Overview

The Women Advocates for Vaccine Access (supported by Johns Hopkins International Vaccine Access Center) in partnership with Save the Children Nigeria and other members of the 2017 African Vaccination week (AVW), will be hosting a Creative Art and Writing Competition on the value of vaccines and immunization financing. This event is part of the national activities to mark the 2017 AVW.

Key outputs from this activity will be creative assets that can serve as vehicles for advocacy and social mobilization messages.

The AVW, which coincides with World Vaccination Week, is commemorated globally in the last week of April every year. The week provides an opportunity for countries to strengthen immunization services and systems through advocacy, awareness creation, education, communication, and other activities. The theme of the 2017 African Vaccination Week, taking place April 24, 2017 to April 29, 2017, is “Vaccines protect everyone, get vaccinated.”
