Epidemics Going Viral: Innovation vs. Nature

April 27, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 12:45 pm

Zika. Ebola. H1N1. SARS. Malaria. Cholera. In recent years, we have seen global outbreaks of these and other infectious diseases.

Today, every epidemic has the potential of becoming a pandemic with catastrophic implications for global health. Professionals in medicine and public health must make containing the next epidemic an urgent priority.

EPIDEMICS GOING VIRAL: INNOVATION VS. NATURE examines this complex challenge from the perspectives of researchers, clinicians, and others who have first-hand experience dealing with epidemics. This free live web event is presented by the Massachusetts Medical Society, recognized for national education programs and innovative advocacy, and the New England Journal of Medicine, a leader in global health and breakthrough research on public health emergencies.
