PATH, in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and global partners—the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and World Health Organization (WHO)—is hosting a two and a half-day meeting on November 7–9, 2017, the A2O2: Accelerating Access to Oxygen convening in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to discuss best practices and challenges for ensuring consistent access to safe oxygen delivery (i.e., oxygen therapy with use of pulse oximetry). Recent momentum in low- and middle-income countries working to improve access to safe oxygen delivery, particularly high-profile efforts led by Ethiopia’s Ministry of Health, has made it clear that timely coordination between suppliers and country stakeholders is required to increase access to appropriate and affordable oxygen technologies and supplies.

The A2O2 convening is bringing together stakeholders to:

• Facilitate connections and transparency between country leadership and members of industry.
• Share lessons learned and expertise across countries.
• Discuss opportunities for accelerating improved access to safe oxygen delivery.

An estimated 100 confirmed attendees are participating in this event. Stakeholders comprise:

•  Government delegations from nine countries—Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda.
• Industry members from more than ten countries—oxygen plant, oxygen cylinder, oxygen concentrator, and pulse oximeter manufacturers.
• Global health partners—Assist International, the Center for Public Health & Development, CHAI, the FREO₂ Foundation, PATH, UNICEF, the University of Melbourne, and WHO.
• Financiers—the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the GE Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, UNITAID, and the United States Agency for International Development.
