The fight against pneumonia deaths is being lost – and children on the frontline are paying with their lives. Fighting for Breath turns a spotlight on the inequalities, policy failures and indifference holding back progress. It challenges governments, international agencies, private companies and non-governmental organizations to come together in a coalition committed to saving lives. Collectively we have it in our power to save 5 million young lives over the next 15 years. This report sets out how we can do it. Use the hashtag #FightingforBreath to help raise awareness about the fight against pneumonia and encourage others to act.
The 15 supportive country spotlights highlight country-level progress on key indicators relevant to combatting pneumonia. The briefings also offer a detailed profile of current pneumonia burden and recommended action steps combat this disease.
