February 2, 2010 – President Obama has submitted his budget blueprint for Fiscal Year 2011. What follows is the Global Coalition against Child Pneumonia’s statement on the global health component of the budget.
“President Obama’s budget increases the U.S. commitment to global health, and looks like the beginning of a more child-friendly approach to foreign assistance. It gives new priority to safeguarding the health of children in the world’s poorest countries. The President’s request shows U.S. leadership in the fight for global health is unwavering, even growing, during difficult economic times.
