NPI: Gov’s wife seeks inclusion of vaccination against pneumonia

The wife of the Bayelsa State governor, Mrs Alanyingi Sylva, has called for the inclusion of vaccination against pneumonia in the National Immunisation Programme (NPI).

She pointed out that to achieve a reduction in the number of child deaths resulting from pneumonia, children under the age of five must be vaccinated.
The governor’s wife spoke at a round table with doctors and community health workers on child survival in her office as part of activities to mark the World Pneumonia Day in Yenagoa, the state capital.
