Drug giant to slash global diarrhoea vaccine price

The British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is to cut the price of its diarrhoea vaccine by 95 percent for the world’s poorest nations, potentially saving hundreds of thousands of lives.

Under GSK’s new pricing structure, the poorest nations will be able to buy a dose of the Rotarix vaccine for $US2.50, which is just 5 percent of the standard Western price.
