Round-Up: World Pneumonia Day 2016
From Abuja to Seattle, child health advocates rallied around a unified message in November: Keep the Promise. Stop Pneumonia Now. Their voices reached a crescendo on World Pneumonia Day, November 12, an annual opportunity to raise awareness, promote prevention and treatment, and generate action to fight the illness.
Leading the way was the Global Coalition Against Child Pneumonia, made up of NGOs, academic institutions, government agencies, and foundations. Coalition members used diverse advocacy strategies, from spirited marches to far-reaching social media campaigns, to remind policymakers that the fight against pneumonia is not yet over.
